Terms and Conditions

Cancellations / No show – cancellations can leave an empty block in the schedule that could have otherwise been used by another customer. For this reason I ask that any rescheduling or cancellations be done with 24 hours notice. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged a fee of 25% of your booking. No shows will be charged 100% of your booking, and this is required to be paid before another appointment may be scheduled.

Timeliness – Please be on time to your appointment. If you are running late, and depending on the rest of my schedule for the day, I might not be able to groom your dog in the available time left. If this is the case you will be charged as per Cancellations / No show above. If you are running late, please call on 021 113 3432 to let me know. I will notify you via text when your dog is ready to be collected, using the phone number provided when you booked. Please pick your dog up promptly when ready, unless otherwise arranged. I do not have space to keep your dog for too long after their appointment.

Appointments have been set to cover the maximum period of time I think their groom will take. Times will vary depending on the size of your dog and groom required. While a small dog on a short clipper might take 1.5-2 hours, a large dog with a longer haircut requiring scissoring will likely take longer than three hours. When you drop your dog off I will give you an idea of how long I think the appointment will take.

Vaccinations – all dogs visiting the grooming salon must be current on all their vaccinations and provide documentation of such. All puppies must have at least had their first vaccination. In the event that your dog is not vaccinated for medical reasons, please contact me to arrange a time to visit when the salon will be empty.

Dangerous or Aggressive Animals / Refusal of Service – Kiss my Mutt has the right to refuse any services at any time. Although very rare, in the event that your animal is too stressed or becomes dangerous to groom, Kiss my Mutt has the right to refuse services, stop grooming services, or cancel services at any time before, during, or after grooming and the client will be charged a grooming fee for the services rendered until that point.  

Fleas/Ticks – Please ensure your dog is flea free prior to bringing them in for their appointment.  If I find fleas on your dog prior to the commencement of their groom I will call you to collect them immediately and you will be charged for your appointment.  If I find traces of fleas whilst washing your dog, I will include a flea treatment wash, which will cost an additional $20 and will be payable on pickup.

Matted Coats – Pets with matted coats require extra attention. Matting in a pet’s coat grows tight, provides a breeding ground for parasite infestations and infections, and can ultimately damage and tear the pet’s skin. Small mats may be able to be removed. Kiss my Mutt will not cause serious or undue stress to your pet by de-matting excessively matted coats and may require the pet to be shaved. If this is the case I will call you prior for your approval. If I do not feel I am able to remove the matting safely I will call you to discuss alternative options. A de-matting minimum fee of $50 will apply in addition to the cost of the groom as it is time-consuming and causes extra wear on grooming equipment.

Payment – Payment is due at time of pick-up by way of cash or bank transfer.  

Photos – From time to time I like to take photos of before and after, cute or funny moments, etc.  Please advise if you do not wish for photos of your dog to feature on social media or website.
